TOP TEN Album
The premise is a must: think of a Top Ten is a difficult undertaking because it is very limited in number, because it is necessarily subjective, because it depends on the period (tastes over the years), etc..
The 10 titles that I have chosen seek to reflect the beauty of the individual albums (necessarily subjective), but also for those older, how much I loved it in the recent past (even ignoring the fact that now no longer ascoltatissimi). Party:
10. Nevermind (Nirvana ) 1991. The album that best represents the Nirvana and marking a musical genre and era, that of Grunge, which I particularly loved. Nevermind is an exception thanks to songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come as You Are
9. Images And Words (Dream Theater ) 1992. The album that introduced me to Dream Theater right now are my favorite band. The discovery is relatively recent because it comes just four years ago. And 'the album that many regard as the starting point of the progressive metal genre but alternate songs by the complicated structure ( Metropolis - Part I "The Miracle And The Sleeper" it is a typical example) to more simple and more like the classic metal style ("Pull Me Under "and" Another Day "perhaps the most business impact)
8. A Night At The Opera (Queen ) 1975. It 'a fantastic album, perhaps the best in the history of Rock the 70's. The only Bohemian Rhapsody song is legendary, and who do not need to comment further, but the album has a couple more hits phenomenal ( Love of My Life and You're My Best Friend ) but all the songs are of the highest level. I love Queen and I struggled to choose a single album, but this is perhaps the most important and significant.
7. Jagged Little Pill (Alanis Morissette ) 1995. This album showed the world the Canadian Alanis Morissette, author of two great albums (also nice the next Under Rug Swept ) and then artistically concealed. A large number of highly successful songs, including commercial, disk, and many videos from the album. Just to name a few: You Oughta Know, You Learn , Ironic, Head Over Feet and Hand in My Pocket
6. The Dark Side Of The Moon ( Pink Floyd) 1973. The Pink Floyd makes me mad. I started to appreciate after 18 years and there was a time when I listened to their music almost exclusively. There are many albums of great importance as personal taste, but also as historical importance. I had to make a hard choice and the sixth position here, "the dark side of moon" disc that holds the record of 14 years of stay in the Billboard Top200 and is registered with a perfectly incredible for the period. Being a concept album has tracks that particularly stand out or that can be considered real hits. To report your personal taste and Time The Great Gig in the Sky
5. Appetite For Destruction ( Guns N 'Roses ) 1987. First real studio album from Guns n 'Roses. The huge commercial success, thanks to the look and live performances of the group, has approached the Metal genre many new fans. Slash's guitar and the voice of Axl Rose are the trademarks of the typical sound of GNR. From the many videos and many hugely successful hit. My favorite: Welcome to the Jungle , Sweet Child O 'Mine Rocket Queen and
4. Metallica - The Black Album ( Metallica) 1991. I'm not a fan of Metal and louder for this Metallica, who during his career have gradually focused on a metal more "melodic" denying the beginnings trash, I think they peaked with the Black Album. In reality, the former "... And Justice For All" to the last "Death Magnetic" (as an exception to a horrific St.Anger) Metallica have produced really great records. But remember this especially because I heard it hundreds of times bike training. A lot of the songs are worthy of note. My favorite: Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven , Nothing Else Matters, Sad But True and Wherever I May Roam
3. Use Your Illusion I / Use Your Illusion II ( Guns N 'Roses ) 1991. Officially, two discs, but for me they are one great "Baroque work" consists of 30 songs in 4 vinyls (I had not the CD!). At that time there were only the GNR for me and I have seen these disks in a couple of years, two concerts of such a long tour in Italy and the return to the lineup of the show was revolutionized. Tour and Disco have in fact been the beginning of the end of the group because of worsening relations between Axl and the other members of the band. The disks can see a change in the style of the group with more complex arrangements, introduction of metal tools not properly (strings, piano, etc.) that lead the band toward the hard rock style. A lot of the videos posted. My favorite: November Rain , Civil War and You Could Be Mine
2. Metropolis Pt 2: Scenes from a Memory ( Dream Theater) 1999. A 'spectacular work of Dream Theater. A concept album that tells a story thriller inspired by the film "Dead Again" by Kenneth Branagh and musically expanded to the nth power contained in the song "Metropolis Pt.1". The disc alternates between moments of great technical virtuosity wonderful melody in a perfect mix. The most beautiful ballads (my favorite is "The Spirit Carries On") have a style inspired by Pink Floyd. Difficult point out individual songs, the CD should be listened to repeatedly start to finish and perhaps following texts and translations to better understand the work that is full of musical moments of great importance.
1. The Wall (Pink Floyd ) 1979. At the moment I think the best album I've ever heard and one of those who know best. This is also thanks to the film, with subtitles, I've seen and reviewed to the point of knowing, unusually good, even the meaning of the lyrics, which is often a problem when listening to music in English. And perhaps it is striking images and animations of film to influence my opinion. Excluding the now overexposed "Another Brick in the Wall "(which, however, the disk appears in three different times just mentioned), many other songs stand out: Comfortably Numb, Run Like Hell, Hey You , Goodbye Blue Sky, In the Flesh?
PS finished article, I realize it does not appear albums of Iron Maiden, the Metal band that I have loved all these years. What a hard task to draft a top ten!
